In the December round of State Cup play, the 07 Storm boys headed back up to Cherry Island Soccer Complex to attempt to add another tournament title to their growing resume.
It was a tough weekend with tough competition and the boys finished play with a 1-2 record. The team played an epic and intense match on Sunday with eventual champion Santa Clara Sporting, that might have been the best match of the weekend. The two teams traded blows all match with Sporting surviving for a hard fought 2-1 victory.
Although it wasn't the desired result, the Storm boys fought hard and played well over the weekend and the competition will strengthen and make them better down the road. Coach Robert Olson has high hopes for this young group, and he intends on building on 2018's success going forward. The team will continue winter training, and will resume competition early in 2019.
